The cover for Malice is inspired by Clarice’s point of view from Silence of the Lambs. In Malice, Alice is playing games with the Fleshtaker (Hannibal Lector) to get information about the killer (Buffalo Bill). The reader experiences Alice being manipulated, lied to and having her secrets exposed in order for the killer to escape without being caught.
I used blue and red as well as crime scene tape to maintain the theme of law enforcement and crime. The imagery of the woman in the shadows demonstrates the secrecy and mystery of the story causing the viewer to want to see what unfolds.
